Dharamsala is located in the Kangra Valley in the Dhauladal Mountains, it became the capital of the Kangra district in 1852 and is one of the most important hill stations on the tourist map of India. In 1960, the Prime Minister of India granted this land to the Tibetans in exile, and Dharamsala became the new home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government in exile. Now it has become the center of Tibetan activities, with numerous organizations, monasteries, schools and more than 8,000 resident Tibetans.

Dharamshala is surrounded by dense coniferous forests and is a starting point to a number of popular treks of the country. The triund trek offers some of the most stunning views of the Kangra valley. The trekkers get to enjoy the scenic beauty of the lakes Dal and Kareri. The culture of Dharamshala reflects the religious beliefs and devout beliefs of the Kumani people who live a simple life away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. This is crucial because the multicultural culture has been reliably separated from the mall.
